Our annual holiday gift to the youth in our community brought together young people for an evening of connection, networking, creativity, and leadership. Attendees networked with peers who share the same background and values, shared presentations, supported one another with college preparation and career guidance, and built lasting professional connections. A special thank you to everyone who participated and to the youth who organized and led the program from start to finish. Happy New Year!
Monthly Sai Bhajan
Thank you to all the devotees, sponsors, and the host family for their support and participation in our monthly Sai Bhajan. Sai Bhajan strengthens our faith, brings us together in devotion, and fills our lives with daya, maya, and kripa. Through group prayer and bhajan, we nurture peace and spiritual growth in our lives and in our community. Everyone in the Chicagoland area is always welcome — no formal invitation is needed to join.
Deusi Bhailo in Nepali School
A beloved Nepali Tihar tradition came alive as our Nepali School kids gathered for a special Deusi Bhailo celebration. The children performed traditional singing performances, sang folk songs, and danced while offering blessings for prosperity. Families welcomed them with dakshina, sweets, and food as the evening filled with music, warmth, and the true spirit of Dipawali.
Teej Pooja 2025
One of the most widely celebrated Hindu festivals in Nepal, observed predominantly by women across the country. Our members gathered dressed in vibrant red saris and gold jewelry to sing traditional Teej songs and dance together. The festival is dedicated to the goddess Parvati and her devotion to Lord Shiva, with women observing a rigorous fast praying for the well-being of their families. Beyond its religious significance, Teej holds deep cultural importance as a rare occasion that brings women together in solidarity and joy — a space to express themselves freely through song, dance, and communal gathering.

Our annual Teej Festival celebration brought together women from across the Chicago area for an evening of traditional dance, music, performances, and community bonding. Dressed in vibrant reds and golds, members celebrated this cherished Nepali festival with joy and togetherness.
Kids Debate by Laliguras
Laliguras hosted a spirited debate among children from elementary and middle schools across the Chicagoland area on the topic “Is social media making kids' lives better?” Nine young participants took the stage, showcasing impressive critical thinking and public speaking skills. A special thank you to our judges Binod Dhungel, Smarika Sitaula, and Sabita Khadka, and to all the participants for making this event a tremendous success.
Laliguras Nepali School
Established in September 2023, the Laliguras Nepali School provides children in the greater Chicago area with a unique opportunity to learn the Nepali language and connect deeply with their cultural heritage. Through classes, storytelling, and cultural activities, we offer both fall and spring sessions with weekly hybrid classes tailored for various age groups.
