Our Story
Nurturing Nepali Heritage in Chicago
Founded in 2020, Laliguras Nepali American Women is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle, fostering mutual support, and preserving our rich Nepali culture here in Illinois. It quickly became a vibrant community space for women to celebrate festivals, share traditions, and build lasting connections.
Recognizing the vital need to pass these traditions to the next generation, the organization took a major step forward by establishing the Laliguras Nepali School in September 2023. The school's mission is to provide children in the greater Chicago area with a unique opportunity to learn the Nepali language and connect deeply with their cultural heritage.
Through a blend of classes, storytelling, and cultural activities, we nurture a strong sense of identity and pride in our students. We offer both fall and spring sessions with weekly hybrid classes tailored for various age groups, ensuring that Nepali traditions flourish for generations to come.
